she was great, i hope she wins it all, they will find a way to not give it to her, i stood and appluded and was choked up.saw it on the news the next morning.
sxc666: It makes you wonder just how much undiscovered talent we have out there. seriously I just made my kids watch this also and there eyes tripled in size
That was exactly what I said to Ambrose earlier.
I'm supposed to be going out to sing karaoke later. Think I may be discovered?
sxc666: you can sing? good for you................gawd knows I wish I could.........standing on a cats tail comes to mind when I try to belt out a tune
Others say I can... I don't give myself too much credit.
Crollydoll11: I was watching and i just couldnt believe it,definitely shows never judge book my cover...brought tears to my eyes,so moving.I can see her win...
I can't even tell you how many times I've listened to that youtube since Tuesday when I first heard of it. A beautiful voice, an undying spirit realizing her dream. I hope she finds all her dreams coming true.
hornswoggled: Rarely are great female singers stunningly attractive, excluding Sarah Vaughn or Linda Ronstadt. The Brit singing in that video has a great natural vibrato, much like Ronstadt's.
Whether they be from the Jazz era (Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday), the rock/folk era (Joan Armatrading, Chaka Kahn) or even pop/new wave/dance era (Alison Moyet, Weather Girls/Two Tons of Fun), many of the great women singers have been "heavy"; being large is probably what gives them the lung power to belt out the songs. Since MTV came along, great singers with large waistlines get ignored in favour of T&A no-talents with large bustlines. Does anyone honestly believe Aretha Franklin would get a record contract if she came along in 2009?
I listen to singers for their music, not to look at their pictures and drool (or something more prurient), and I have no patience for mediocre "talent" like Mariah Carey or Bouncy Beyonce.
Don't forget Ethel Merman in the more talent than looks dept. or Madonna in the other column.
