smoky: Sommer, lovely thread, and inspiring for you as his mother, like everyone else says ... with a Mom like you .... no wonder he turned out so good!

May I take advantage of this Thread....? and say .... I`m having such a lovely time just absorbing ..... havent seen my youngest son for 4yrs .. in that time he`s become a husband (sneaked off with his bride to get married on the beach in Thailand!) ... and become a father.

When I look at my baby (who`s 33 now!) .... I marvel at how he has managed his life.. from that cute little brown baby to a grown man in so few years... buzzing around the Emirates running his business!

Early hours this morning I found him in his office working ... offered to make a snack ....
"Thanks Mom ... how about some old-fashioned Mama-food?"
That means I concoct something tasty and unusual and very very healthy.
HIs wife walked into the kitchen, said "What you doing Mom?" .....
"Making Mama-food" .....
"Oh cool!" and walked out.

She`s Iranian, and knows all about "Mama-food"!

Hoi Mrs 'I am in the desert'

Four years is a long time, but hell they never forget Mum's cooking do they?

Isn't it amazing when we look at them, all of us and see them and think 'how did we produce something so wonderful?

He sounds a delight along with his wife and I'm sure you are having a lovely time, all of you.

Congratulations to both of you for having wonderful sons.......... I got a bit of a 'heart-stopper' the other day informing me that my youngest son wants my address and shall contact me for the first time ever once his exams are over - however, I'd better not get too excited as in this day and age if it's a woman's perogative to change her mind the same should be true for a young man.

However, it was a pleasant surprise - sometimes when you genuinely give up hope about something very important to you that you have 'willed' to happen..... when you accept that it is totally out of your control and you realise that you can't MAKE IT happen - then suddenly things turn out unexpectedly for the better!

I feel totally crap.

I worked hard to arrange and run a charity lunch and auction on Sunday.

I felt let down and found it hard to cope and lost my temper afterwards........... I succeeded in raising money but caused the woman I love grief.

As regards to my son I refuse to be optimistic or I shall feel even worse and worse as each day passes without me hearing from him - I am way too emotional.

My eldest son is now beginning to recover from a long-term illness and I am doing my best to be supportive - he knows that I am not mentally stable, so it is both understandable and often easier for him to ignore my existence than ever answer an email or telephone call.

I am going to see a psychologist to make other people who care about me happy, but I honestly don't believe I can change and do not like being 'drugged up' to alter my behaviour to a level acceptable by society.

To tell the truth I feel life holds no challenge for me, and (although no way am I suicidal) I look forward to nolonger experiencing the constant mental misery of being alive.

As the father of 4 children, three boys and a daughter of 4 years, my pride seems to increase every day,it's not just their achievements that produce pride, its the way they have grown into their individual characters, each has some trait of each parent but have also created their own personality, even my daughter at her tender age has become a personality in her own right.
We, as parents, are truly blessed to have children.

We are indeed! thumbs up

No matter how successful you may or may not have been as either a man or a woman in a particular career...... to have been or to become a successful parent is the greatest joy of all!

However, some people either can't have children or do not wish to have children............. for those that can't we must feel their hurt and for those who have no desire to become a mother or a father I say that is their right and what they don't know they luckily don't miss............ like a person born blind cannot know what it is like to see.

Change your perspective on life and fall in love again.
To laugh and love is the best remedy for anyone.

Your son is indeed fortunate to have a mummy like you.

Jeeze I went away, came back briefly to taunt Phoenix on the football thread, and read and read!

I just had to respond to a few threads.

Happy birthday to your darling boy. My daughter just celebrated her birthday with me recently, and my boy just got engaged.

How lovely it is to be a mum.
