To simplify things I would have to say a lover and a best friend. That covers quite a bit in itself. Scares the hell out of most men to hear it though.

Ok. A little honesty here....

I'm a person with a wide range of interests, and it's difficult to meet someone who is happy with me in each of those areas.

For example, I know plenty of women who are into the arts. I really enjoy a good theatre production, ballet, musical, comedy performance, or opera. I love fine dining, and unique dining experiences - things like dining under the stars beneath Ayer's Rock (Uluru), fully catered.

So I have no problems meeting women who enjoy the finer things in life.

However, I equally enjoy a good sporting event - going to the football, watching sports on tv, cheering my team on. I know women who are just as passionate about sport as I am.

I love adventure - skydiving, whitewater rafting, bungy jumping, rockclimbing, hiking, kayaking, scuba diving, etc. I love to travel, and have so much more I want to see and do. Easy to find women into these things too.

Yet I also love a wide variety of movies, anything from watching the magic of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers to seeing the latest blockbuster. Cuddling up on the lounge, or even better, snuggling in the car at the drive-in. Plenty of women enjoy these things....

I do want to settle down with the right woman and build a happy family together. I'll always want to take holidays and adventures though. Together, of course!

I enjoy a good bbq on the beach, but love wine and not beer. I like romantic picnics in the park.

I enjoy cooking, and really love it when I can spend a couple of hours in the kitchen, good music, good wine, loads of laughter, with stolen hugs and kisses in amongst the food preparation.

I love children. I'm involved as a leader in a local youth group.

I'm a people person, able to comfortably fit into most social situations.

The thing is, people struggle with this crazy range of interests and involvements I have. I may be in the Defence Force, but I'm a pacifist. I won my last fight by 50 metres! However, I will fight against injustice, and you'd better not endanger my loved ones.

So what am I looking for? I'm looking for a woman who is intelligent, humorous, is equally comfortable sitting around a campfire as in a fine dining restaurant.

A woman who has a social conscience. Who genuinely cares for people. Yet doesn't get upset when I spend a bit of money on surprising her with a travel adventure, a night out, a pamper package, or even just a gift or bouquet of flowers just because I love her.

I'm looking for a woman who truly enjoys and embraces life, who celebrates diversity. Who may not know all about football, but can still enjoy the experience.

A woman who's into fitness, but is able to enjoy a good night out.

A woman comfortable in who she is. Confident, but not arrogant.

I want to find a woman who is able to engage in great conversation, but an indepth synopsis of current political/economical climes, an equally indepth conversation on which team is going to win this year's title, or simply laughing and talking absolute nonsense. Educated is great, intelligence is even better - not necessarily the same thing.
