I have three questions that probably nobody can answer they are so deep. They all came to me when cooking this evening.

1) I burned a few of my arm hairs when I got too close to the flame. My question is: does a cook still have arm hairs?

2) I never put the pots in the dishwasher. My next question is: when you have to wash the pots do you wash the other dishes along with them or do you waste the water and put the dishes in the dishwasher?

3) When you forget to wash a glass that is still on the table after you have done the pots : Is it still kosher to wash the glass in the greasyish water?

moping dunno
grin laugh rolling on the floor laughing

Wooffy,
Let's talk 'deep'. My lover bought me a book on philosophy about 10 days ago. So...here goes, you answer my question and I will answer yours.

Chapter 1: What is Reality?
The question of the nature of reality, or being, is one of the most ancient in Western philosophy. But what does it really mean to call something real? And which things should we credit with the most fundamental reality?

Two part question and toughies but here goes: Something is real when you perceive it to be real. e.g. A love that is new cannot be fathomed to be real by others but is so real to you that it hurts. So is it real? Yes because it is real to you.
What makes a human tick. Food, water, O2 and human contact take any of these away and the spirit deminishes (in the case of O2 quite quickly). Other things are important but what it all comes down to are these four things.

I could continue but it would just be addition. So I guess that will be it for now.

1. A cook who has just started off his apprenticeship will have very few hairs on the lower part of his arms and many small scars from oil burns. As he becomes a better chef, the hair will grow back and scars disappear because he will be employing a young'un to be doing the grunt work for him.

2. To conserve water, wash the pots in the sink, but use the dirtied water to pre-rinse the dishes prior to putting them in the dishwasher.

3. You may wash a glass in greasy water, but you must use Ajax to enable emulsion to happen, the process by which dirt is removed by suds (bonding on an atomic level enables the oily dirt particles to separate from the glass, adhere to the atoms of the soap product). But you must still rinse with clean water.

I have to admit I'm a clean freak when it comes to the kitchen and doing dishes. The dishes are done before I go to bed, and I only burn the hair off my arms when lighting the BBQ in the wind.laugh

As for reality, it's what you make it.dancing

Same as Alta raining one day and above 20 the next omg you said 30 oh well you see Alta is the ultimate extreme. As I always tell people here in Europe Calgary has only two seasons Winter and July. But you can sometimes get both in the same day too.cheers have another if it's BBQ weather ..... and one if it's not

Yup, the ultimate extreme, and most just don't understand unless they've lived here. Where else on the planet can the temperatures vary almost 100 degrees celsius in a couple of days.laugh

It's raining, but I'll still fire up the BBQ later anywaycheers

This really happened : The first year I was here in Belgium it was a winters evening. A friend and I were waiting at the bus stop. He was shivering with a warm hat on gloves a scarf a thick winter coat. He apparently also had a thick sweater on a shirt etc. You get the point. I had a winter coat on unbuttoned wide open and a very thin sweater no hat no gloves not cold at all. I mean it was only - 5 and for a Calgarian thats peanuts. I got the nickname Eskimo after that.
