I don't know how dire the situation is in New Zealand, but I certainly wouldn't want to be a male teacher in Australia.

apart from the male teacher bit.My eldest childrens high school, equal ratio of male/female teachers. No problems. It seems pretty straightformard to me, just dont b in the company of ANY student on your own, male OR female.

Just one point I will raise. If men have share custody of children then they pay less child maintenance. If they dont bother with their kids. Then they should pay the lot. After all it takes two to tango. Children need fathers its not always about the money.

My earlier post, in which I said something about the guy getting 18yrs of child support payments, was a tongue-in-cheek post.
