I found this on the a website.
This was from Gaines DuVall :
I have learned that One Random Act of Kindness can change a persons life, which could then change the world. A simple smile could spark someone to be in a better mood. In a better mood, they may be more apt to pulling over and helping someone change their flat tire. It goes on from there...
Can you tell about anything you've done in the last few days or would like to do as an act of kindness...just to be nice ? Maybe just start a list of things that one could think about doing when the opportunity came by .

The obituaryFor my mother, grandfather, grandmotherand father-in-law ended with:"random acts of kindness are preferred to flowers or donations"
That reminds me of the commercial for "a responsible insurance company" that runs here in the continental states.
And yet, it's so true. I do the little things every day...smile at a stranger, let someone get into traffic, help someone pick things up if they drop them, etc. And I do the bigger things when they're needed too.

bodleing: A real random act of kindness
is when you dont tell anyone about it.
That is so true!!!!A few years back I heard of a family going through some really tough times. It was Dec. and cold, and the eletric had been shut off and the gas. They had 4 kids.
I made my way throught the community, I got enough money to get the eletric and gas turned back on.......Gathered enough food for a month, got a christmas tree donated and 100's of gifts for the family. I was so cool, I felt like an earth angel. On Christmas eve...my daughters and I rang the door bell....had them open the card to see the paid bills...........and we left...they never knew who we were!!!! I heard later, it changed everything for them......I loved it!!

Once, following a business windfall my partner and I went to lunch to celebrate. The Waitress saw or good mood, shared it and went the extra mile to facilitate our success. On a whim we each left her a 100 dollar bill. This was 30 years ago. Then we tried to sneak away.No go.She ran us down in the parking lot and tried to give the money back. Only after we repeatedly refused it did she tell us how desperately she needed it.No names were exchanged. We wondered though if it would have been better to have only imagined the consequences. The opportunity to feel self-rigtheous complicated the act. I think anonymity is essential.Only then do you preserve the "randomness"of the act.By forfieting the role of humanitarian.By not needing it.
