SummerUK: Ok as most of you know I don't usually make my own threads here, but this is important.
Just wondering if there are any Barristers out there who can give me some much needed advice.
Hi sweets..
The best thing you can do, because barristers will not speak to you directly (unless there is on on this site who will, but I dont know of one), is to go through a local solicitor who does a Free Legal Surgery in your area, and explain the situation. Im sure you already have a solicitor, but you may be able to get another perspective on it.
If you want to email me privately about this, please do.

Thanks Hon! Its just a kneejerk reaction to a letter I received.
I do know a Barrister but he moved abroad and Ive lost his email addy. I just wanted advice in a more casual setting than a professional one if you know what I mean.
Yes I do have a solicitor but she's the reason I needed the advice

If its a physical injury claim. I think you can find many cases online. I agree with petal to get a second opinion anyway. I would suggest to read in on the matter before you speak to a sollicitor or barrister. So you can explain your particular case wich has its complications like you say. Even professionals might overlook a certain detail.
I dont know how it works in england but i had a copyright problem last year and just called up a specialist lawyer. He was gracious enough to talk with me for over half an hour without charging me anything. I think in my case he talked so long cos he found the subject interesting himself. But you can always try.
Just talkin about it might help too with different people like pb says.
Just to get through this situation and see it from other sides. Ive got an invalid friend myself and I can tell from experience how hard it is to deal with that in the years to come.

Thanks anyway though I appreciate it
If you want serious advice, Summer, (because most on the Intl forum are not familiar with the UK legal system) go and see a local solicitor. If you are not happy with your current solicitor, you need to take advice from another. A barrister will not (in the normal scheme of things) speak to a client directly, unless he has been taken up by a solicitor first.
Im sure you know this already, but Im just trying to help.

Thank you again...
Its something that has been going on for 3 years. Its not physical injury..
Its just that the whle thing has taken a different turn and I'm losing faith in my legal representation. I'm just a bit worried about it thats all. Just thought it was worth a try to see if I could speak to someone here but its ok..I'll do a bit of research.
