I think, when are not in our right mind, we see the things we most fear. When we are afraid we lash out and go into survival mode. It is finding the inner peace that brings back to man kind.

Humans are funny critters, having "evolved" and being capable of intelligent thought and having self awareness, yet so base in nature at times.
Often primal urges can take over the thought process, in either gender of the species, and that's when things can get a little "wild".
