I am getting older, aren't we all, anyway with all the talk about health Ins and drugs today. I would like to ask a question...do you take pills or other types of med's? What is your monthly cost ? and do you need them. The side effects seem to be worse than the illness. Yes, I get depressed and have down days but The anti- depression pills side effect worth it. I don't even take asprin for a headache. I know some people have to take blood pressure and pills to regulate things. I tryed Viagara once, I thought was having a heart attack. Anyway taking med's dailey is important for some but I have heard horror stories about Doctors screwing up and giving people drugs that they didn't need....
I knew a lady who took a shot of wiskey ever night (Keslers)she lived to be 97 she called it her medicine fell a sleep reading the Bible. She was from poland and came here after the war she had been in a consentration camp and didn't trust doctors (I wonder why)..

I don't take meds unless I absolutely have to. Dr. called today and said I needed a vitamin D supplement as mine is at lower end of scale, and aspirin and calcium...
Oh, and B12 is good for memory too.
I take one prescription....but that is because I want it..I suppose I could do without. Would never think of anti-depressants. Was given them once and felt suicidal. Anyway, that was a special situation...I hardly ever get depressed.
Less is better, I think....

I've never heard people of any nationality
talk more about their medication than Americans.

I do have meds that I must take. But believe me, if it could be any
other way I would gladly throw them all away. My insurance will not
pay for alternative or herbal remedies. My mother-in-law may she R.I.P.

Agree The TV adds are telling you, to tell your doctor what you need. The one for sleep has so many side effects I can't sleep at night and I don't take them........

Good observation, We are a bunch of pill poppers...Take a walk with your dog and get some exercise would be better in some cases....talk more about their medication than Americans.

Nope, none, I have gone to a doc and luckily he was honest cuz I thought I was suffering from depression, but he said no I was actually just working through allot of stress and they don't make a pill for that and too keep on chugging along. He was right, I still have days where everything seems to pile on too much all at once (I think it's called life), but just work through them and find the things to laugh about and "pick my battles"

If you body is craving,it is better to fill the need, then to suffer with out satfaction. The craving will get more intense and harder to satisfy. We should always be aware of whay our bodies are telling us it is a part of staying healthy.------ This thread is Archived ------
I only take prescribed medication vital for my well being. As for paying ,well mine is paid for by the Government as I am a Pensioner. Have to agree with Bods comment though ,re self obsession.
