ChiTownMarti: I had this happen to me! I met someone at a bday party and we danced ALL NIGHT! He relayed a msg thru the bday girl that he was dying to go out on a date. After drinks and dinner, he asked for half the bill. MY MOUTH FLEW OPEN--I WAS TAKEN ABACK, I politely paid my share and renamed his contact A--HOLE,DON'T ANSWER! Suffice to say I told the bday girl what happened the next day and everyone ROASTED HIS TRIFLIN A--. HE CALLED AND CALLED AND CALLED....i never spoke to that loser again!

chysanthia: Have you ever dated a guy girls who invited you out and you had to open your purse to pay your way through both ways...I find that the excuse is that we say we are independent and that we should prove our independence starting there what do you all think we should do?????????
If a guy asked me out on a date and then insisted I pay my way I'd happily do so, but I wouldn't see him again.
I've cheerfully split bills in relationships and paid for my boyfriends out many a time, but on the first date, if he can't be bothered to make a good impression by at least offering to pay for me, I would assume his cash was more important to him than my company. Not a good sign.
