I will always say you have to feel that bit of attraction also on top of the best of all in personality, well considering most off the shop window girls go for looks all the way anyway.

My friend your getting the dates so it is not like you can not attract them with your looks and personality.
You and they are young and you simply have to except that most young people fall in and out of love quite often simply due to them not often knowing what they want as well as them not wanting to settle down too early-maybe try to be less intense?
From what I see you have a bright future in your trade and you have everything going for you.
In years to come maybe those girls will look back and go "damn,did I make a big mistake".
But whatever. Just enjoy your dating and don't take the attitude that the next one will be "the one".

Yes, there is such a thing as being too nice. It's called being a doormat and that's when you just let anyone and everyone step all over you while you are afraid to take a stand for your self preservation in the face of adversity.
Those 'girlfriends' of yours didn't leave because you were too nice, maybe you're not assertive enough, too hesitant?
There is difference between being nice and not being assertive.
It's a medium we all struggle with. Some go too far and end up being jerks and others end up being doormats.
You also have to discriminate between different people.
I mean by that, some people will be rude and crude to you, just give them back their change and some will be pleasant and nice.
Conduct yourself accordingly.
Rule of the day: Be polite.
