There's a few deal-breakers for me, but the main thing I wouldn't be able to tolerate in a serious relationship is constant insults and put-downs. If the most important person in your life isn't on your side, somethings wrong.

Yes, I agree. I think some people have grown up in such an abusive environment, and think talking like that to someone supposedly dear to them is the norm. It might be for them, but not to the person on the receiving end. Yes, a real deal breaker.
