Personally I dont think that social status or financial backgrounds has anything to do with love.
If you love someone, you love THEM as a person, as an entity. Different backgrounds can cause difficulties in any relationship, however love encompasses acceptance, forgiveness and understanding, to name a few.
Surely such differences would be overlooked, accepted, whatever to the advancement of the relationship.

Looking a little deeper into this question, I guess it would depend on the reason for the "poor"...what I mean by that is if the poor person was in that situation because they have a bad (or no) work ethic and the other person was financially stable or wealthy because they do, well... I would imagine that they would run into all sorts of problems within the relationship.

I get your idea too, I was taking it from a different tack.. that you'd not marry someone because they were from the 'wrong side of the tracks' so to speak.
But yeah, if they were a lazy a*se, well I guess I wouldnt fall in love with them anyway because lazy is very unattractive to me.
