I would be less attracted to a woman who was not beautiful, but I would give her the opportunity to impress me.
When a salon (reported in the news) was closed down due to some religious reasons...women were upset because that was one place they could go and be themselves without the eyes of man looking at them and being within earshot of their conversations...
Perhaps you need to look at this situation with a different lens...
The only reason women put make up on and pay attention to there attire is to be appreciated by men, unless they are of the LGBT community. You don't honestly believe they do it for themselves? Why would they go to all that trouble unless it was to attract the opposite sex?

As I said you cannot assume that it is for men...as they dress up for their own desires and needs...not just men...but if you insist you are right...carry on...

Wearing modest dress and coverings in places of worship are also part of many religions...not heard about the make up part though...or having hair done underneath the covering...
The rest is women beng as free as they can withing the limitations.
Me I often find a hijab to make her more attractive and not less.
Especially whe she is hot and her makup is to a tee.
I'm glad we agree on something.

We freed a slave from a Russian village and took her to the city.
You can see her self confidence increase as she's trying on clothes. She had really opened up by the time they got to doing hair and makeup. She really does look beautiful and elegant after her transformation..
How can wearing a head covering be man made and religious? Which one is it? If the woman accepts the religious belief, then she wears a hair covering and accepts the reason behind it, which is to not be appealing to men. Then she applies make up to make herself as attractive as possible. A contradiction, yes?
What's the point of going to a hair salon and then covering your hair up?
Women should have their right to go to a salon and appear with a fashionable hair style, even to walk round in curlers if they wish.
Yes, why not let the women decide what they want to do...
If this practice has been going on for ages...far be it to me to tell them how to dress...it is what they are comfortable with...
When women can be free of this burden of being responsible for their appearance concerning men's conduct...then maybe women will not be concerned for their safety...but so far history suggests that many women have been blamed/shamed for the bad behaviour of men...
I doubt men want to be perceived as weak minded...
Criminals will use anything to prevent going to prison...like the case in the 80's in New York...it is a good example of how the court system failed a young woman...
A documentary was made about it...Robert Chambers the Preppy Murderer...Here it is if you want to view it...
The total covering of woman who may not be seen other than by her husband is about possession and control. Like the harems of old. Ownership and fear that she may get away.
