To some people it does matter what others think about them.Maybe the people who it matters to suffer from low self-esteem and want to hear and be reasured that they are.
It may also be as to how they were treated in a relationship.Like maybe someone they were with verbally abused them.

Personally I don´t think so. They tend to backfire on the OP as we have all witnessed.
They seem to me to be a cry for attention, so we should be a little empathetic I suppose. The problem is that we see so many of them, and empathy flies out of the window.
I usually ignore these kind of threads.

Most people who post on the Threads seem to attack a new person who post "Am I hot" threads. I personally don't care one way or the other. I find any thread is okay other than stupid polls.
