Hand-washing is the cheapest way of controlling disease but less than one-third of men and two-thirds of women wash their hands with soap after going to the toilet, a British study by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine showed.

The stats could be skewed by people answering 'no' to washing their hands after going to the toilet, because they use an antibacterial wash instead! (BTW, this kills 99.9% of germs and viruses...5 second handwashing does not achieve that.)

In this study the results were based on sensors on the soap. They didn't have antibacterial wash in the loos so I don't think the results stats were skewed.

I agree. It becomes more important everyday. Carry some sanitizer in your purse and offer it to the ones that come back with dry hands. As the study showed if they think someone is watching and noticing they are more likely to do it. We just need to help them get into the habit.

NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: Women public bathrooms are messy. Water and paper towels everywhere. It is because we wash our hands.
Yes, they can be. I love the air dryers. Bump them with your elbow to start them and you leave the restroom germ free...that is if you use your hip to open the door.

Ah, that's different then.
But you didn't have that information in your introductory post. There are so many of these polls such as online, and in magazines, or opinion poll companies calling households.
