SummerUK: Yes we do all learn and I have found its more good than bad. Sometimes we focus on the bad. Human nature I guess

I could go out tonight and eat Thai, Turkish, Greek, Chinese, Indian etc etc. We would have missed out of sooooo much without these different cultures.

I guess McDonalds is one I'm not sure I'm grateful for although they are yummy a couple of times a year

they closed the last big mac in iceland this week lol

SummerUK: As we all know our American friends get bashed more than any other nation. This thread is to thank them for happy memories I have as a child.

I was just cleaning up in the lounge and 'Paint your Wagon' was on a classic movies channel.

It made me think of the times when I was young and all the movies I would watch. Especially sunday afternoon after a big roast dinner with Yorkshire puds lol Sitting with my parents watching Doris Day or Bing Crosby. Soooo many to mention.

Of course there Disney and all the beautiful movies that made me dream of being a Princess waiting for my Prince

(Errrrr still waiting for that one)

Anyway, this is just to thank them and for anyone else who wishes to do so.

Could be anything at all. Not neccesarily movies. USA in my opinion has contributed in so many good ways to my life.
Any bashing will result in being turfed

shock jaw drop

SummerUK: Thats quite true about dealing with life but some don't even have the personalities to be nuts lol

They are the ones to avoid

I have to say that most of the smart people in this world do not have any personalities. Einstein ..... and so on ! They were great men though !

venere08: I would like to do a mini documentary about my parents' experiences in the war, with all their stories. Also of their friends' experiences. I know my parents felt very safe with the Americans present, though they had no idea they were arriving on the scene when they did, just before the end of WW2.

this book i have in my hand now,is all about British,Australian and American prisoners held by japanese during the world war 2,and if u saw their pics, malnourished and forcing them to work in miner coal that owned of grandfather of former japanese prime minister Taro Aso,im a bit suprise about this...american do a lot of great things everywere..and sometimes it comes to my mind how their family suffer once they never return back home..sigh bouquet
