A question for the lads (49)

As you know, most women talk to other women about their goods and bads with relationship, and anything in general really. you know, we like to gossip and chat and all that

But who do the men really talk to?

I ask this as I was talking to a lady at work today and she showed me a text msg she got from the new boyfriend. It was funny how it was written and I can't retype it here as it wasn't mine but lets just say, the boyfriend talks to his dog. No issues there..


Another lady told me how her partner talks to his car. again, I don't think there is an issue here.. both strange a bit though


I concluded from our morning tea session, that men just don't talk to other men, they vent out to objects, cars, animals etc..


So, I am asking you lovely men on here..

Who or what do you confide in?

Very good thread Lou. This is something I have personally battled with I am I suppose a typical male that I bottle things up & dont talk about issues with others. I suppose my mum as my dad is a typical male from the 50s-70s era that you just dont share or talk about any problem at all.

I must be atypical then.. I talk with most of my mates and one mate I am very very close too.. we get down and dirty about most things.. I can talk to him about anything.. and have done. I find it fantastic to be able to drain down and just vent ..without him offering me solutions unless I specifically ask for them.

He is my sounding board and I quite often check my thinking with him.. as I have been known to make the odd selection error when it comes to women in particular...

A horse of course Mr Ed..

Seriously Telou it depends on what the problem is I think... it's not a case of male or female for me, it's a case of who will understand my particular problem the best. I can think of six very close friends that I've confided different things to at different times, but I trust all my friends totally... I'd have no problem confiding in any of them..
