HealthyLiving: The Democratic Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee,
Max Baucass stated Wednesday night, December 23rd, the evening before the final Senate vote on the bill, that Social Security is BROKE and they would not be able to make the January Benefit payments if the Bill did not pass!!!

With the passing of the Bill, the new Federal Taxes go into effect January 2010 and they are counting on those Tax Dollars to support the payouts. Max Baucauss stated that they could borrow no more money and the country is headed for Bankruptcy if the Bill did not pass.

Of course they could not state this to the American People, as Max stated they had Overspent! They voted in Bailouts which 95% of the American People told them not to do!! They put us in the position we are in and now they expect US to bail them out!!

What a bunch of incompetents!! And they think WE are stupid???!!

Here is the C-SPAN page with videos of each Senator by name and date.
Max Baucus has 20 videos for December 23rd. It would be one of the latter videos, as it was one of his closing statements before they adjourned for the early Christmas Eve morning vote.

I could not view it due to technical difficulties. Maybe later?dunno

On the left column you can view the evening broadcast for December 23rd. His statement will be near the end. I did get that video to work.

I don't know why they didn't keep it simple...the government has the best health care plan (insurance wise). So, instead of making this crazy long crazy reform bill...why not just give the American people the same plan the government gets dunno They know its good, and knows it works.

If it cost TOO much money, they can cut some benefits out of that plan, but they would be taking an already existing plan that works, and implacing it...instead of trying to start with nothing and make something "wonderful" which obviously isn't that great. uh oh

HealthyLiving: ooby, Max Baucuss is a hard-core Democrat and I assure you he has no plans of leaving the Democratic Party. Besides, I doubt the Republicans would have him! He is a mocker and I think, one of the biggest Jerks in his party!! He is in no sense a traitor at all!

Now, you want a link for my statement of what Max stated? You will have to look that up for yourself. I saw him say it with my own eyes and heard his words with my own ears, on the Senate floor during the debates. I doubt if the media picked up on it and if they did, they probably would not dare to publish such a thing. I have not done a search to see if anyone has brought it forth into the limelight.

You may be able to catch it from the C-SPAN website. Sometimes over the weekend, they playback airings from earlier in the week. It would have been the December 23 broadcast, after 4pm central time, I believe. I think I was eating dinner at the time.
Maybe they archive these programs. I have no idea. I always watch it live.

If anyone finds anything on this, please share it here. I am busy with some other things at this time. HL
Honestly, I don't know how anybody can even understand him half the time he talks like he's afraid his teeth are gonna fall out.
The way he influenced the healthcare debate was shameful. He is a Democrate in name only because he votes with Republicans most of the time and he's also in the pocket of the big pharma and insurance co's.
"Only three senators have more former staffers working as lobbyists on K Street, at least two dozen in Baucus's case. Several of Baucus's ex-staffers, including former chief of staff David Castagnetti, are now working for the pharmaceutical and health insurance industries. Castagnetti co-founded the lobbying firm of Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti, which represents "America’s Health Insurance Plans Inc.," the national trade group of health insurance companies, the Medicare Cost Contractors Alliance, as well as Amgen, AstraZeneca PLC and Merck & Co. Another former chief of staff, Jeff Forbes, went on to open his own lobbying shop and to represent the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and the Advanced Medical Technology Association, among other groups."

laugh Yes, Max stammers when he's LYING!! I have noticed that!
When he's talking about something else, his speech is pretty clear, but his speech is very broken and lots of separated thoughts gives me a clue that he is putting forth a message of deceit.

I would bet that Many of the Senators and Congressmen and women are bought by Lobbyists and are in the pockets of the pharmaceutical and health insurance companies. I would not at all attribute such defiant acts to one party alone or state that
one party was beyond this corruption.

The Democratic bill in the House is what America actually needs. It stops insurance companies from refusing coverage because of a pre-existing condition. It prevents them from denying you care when you get sick. It will help lower premiums for our families and businesses, and will cover 33 million more people than the Republican bill.

It would be nice, but I think that it will be a cold day in hop-e-lop-lop before this happens.blues

If they cared they would focus on building more hospitals and training more doctors, not less, do you realise the government pays some hospitals to NOT train doctors.
