They think it's ok because there are people that let them. Now if it's their kids, that's one thing; if it's an ex, no way. I wouldn't put up with it for a second.
Bet there are many people like you that come on forums and complain about it when in reality you are part of the problem and are allowing it.
The kids will always be first; that's what is hard about dating someone with kids; you have to get over that. But an ex.
You are creating this situation by allowing it. Stop complaining and do something about it or get used to it.
