Basically it means getting in touch with your soul to attain inner peace, and going with your beliefs. Bible bashing on the other hand is just going with the written word.

By your response you believe in the written word but you have changed the meaning to suit your understanding? and how does that work?

Spirituality deals with things like love, truth, beauty, sincerity etc and I believe the origins of this are God. Every decision you make in life in relation to yourself or others (not things, posessions, money etc) may effect others and to become more spiritual is to have regard for the consequences of all the decisions you make. It does not require flowers, incense, chanting, secret signs or messages, special clothing or worship patterns to be spiritual. These are the trappings of evolutionary religion and are man-made.

The bible contains many worthwhile things, but how do you reconcile its many inconsistencies. e.g. the old testament says "an eye for an eye...." and the new testament says "turn the other cheek", totally opposite philosophies, thus proving, to me at least, that the bible is inspired, but not written by, God.

I don't have a bible, does bashing your lumpstick count?

For me, spirituality is an inward search for the living entity which resides in me. To find that means a lot of soul searching and stripping away layers of old emotions and conditioning. So I guess I see it as a relationship with my God given self and so with God the creator himself. For me, this has nothing to do with biblical teachings or even Christianity. And as it is as I am unique, then there is no point in forcing it down anyone's throat. On the contrary, it allows me to set other people free to be themselves.

I see spirituality as the individual journey, the inner being of each of us. It doesnt matter which external religion you practise we are all spiritual beings, even athiests are spititual. at least that what I believe

For me, spirituality is a direct connection between me, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Giving your life to God; acknowledging that the Son died for all of us and letting the Holy Spirit lead and guide you through life. Not being lead by satan but rather by God and His Word. It's not being a "holy roler." Yes, reading the Bible is important; how else can you know the Word of God. But it doesn't mean you can't still have fun. You can, but you don't have to be in the world to do it. One would say the world is sleeping around, drinking out of control, cusing, being mean to people, lying, stealing, murdering, etc. The world is sin and although we are all sinners, as Christians, we strive to live a good life the way God intended us to live it. Now if there were only more single Christian men on these websites.

"Spirituality" is a soup of the deity religion, pun intended.

It's like salad bar religion: people pick and choose what they want to put in, what they want to believe. They want there to be something supernatural, but they want to cook up their own religion with their own ingredients instead eating one of the pre-made, store-bought versions.

Personally, I prefer naturally existing ingredients, washed and raw. At least I know they're real and not made up, and not some concoction unwittingly laced with strychnine (which the religious have mistaken for salt) that will kill me or someone else.
