A nice hot bubble bath with just candles, I use aromatherapy ones. Then a good book in bed usualy solves it.

Raki is the most disgusting lighter fluid I have ever drunk.

It goes right up there with drinking piss through a sweaty sock, recycled toilet water and diesel!

But it gets you pissed quick ... and its cheap!

I hope everyone's kidding about the alcohol...that's the worst thing you can do for insomnia...yikes.

I'm the queen of insomnia..look up insomnia in an encyclopedia and there I will be..

Actually, it's not as bad now as it used to be...but I'll tell you something you can take that works wonders and it's not a Rx or an OTC drug at all; it's a vitamin B3 derivative called Niacinamide..

you can get it from walmart, but even though it's not sold OTC, you don't need an Rx for it. just ask the pharmacist...roughly $5 per 100 tabs...

comes in 100 mg and 500 mg tabs...i got 500 mg tabs but they still caused a "niacin flush" in me (I have a sensitive system) so you might want to start with 100 mg, per directions...

Do some online research ...it's being used and studied for use for a number of things. It's some really good stuff.

It helps me get to sleep but it makes me feel naturally sleepy and also don't wake up with a "Sominex" hangover an even worse hangover from Rx meds.

I won't even touch those...

Sominex rang a bell to me, just did a bit of googling as to why it may have.. and discovered something very interesting:

"Sominex, an over-the-counter sleep aid in the U.S., shares its name with a sleep aid in the UK that could have extremely different side effects."

Something worth noting, I feel.

Yes, and that's one reason I don't advocate its use..

Sominex is Diphenhydramine Hcl, in .25 or .50 mg strenghts, I believe.

Benedryl is Diphenhydramine Hcl, too. No difference.

If used improperly, it can kill you.

I don't like taking it because it seems to take forever to wear off and leaves me in a fog all day.
