SPOOF!
Then the ISPs are assigning those Addresses to whole Blocks, not just to one single Computer.
Why do you think Banned members are coming back time and again with different Profiles.
There are Programs around that enable you to spoof your IP,at least to stand up to a casual scrutiny.
Don't know how good they are,if Law-enforcement gets in the Act.
Besides,every Feature on a Website,requires extra Server-Space!conversing

ALL Commercial, public, AND gov. sites, domains,
servers AND ANY and ALL (digital)access providers
(like phone too) MUST retain records of whom, when,
and how (veichle, i.e. portable, computer, phone, wifi, etc)
their respective "areas" have been utilized..
They keep (retain such as length, PID, ID ESN, etc., etc.)
The ONLY exemption ARE PRIVATE PERSONAL domains
such as private "clubs",
(LAN's (like network in store or resturant) ) domains,
and certain "restricted" areas
(i.e. tracker, scan, etc. such programs)
IF you utilize (pay) for ANYtype of Internet or
phone access... you ARE tracked..
IF you utilize ANY "free" (wifi/cafe type) access..
you ARE tracked..
Although there are NUMEROUS and MANY ways, hardware, software,
devices, and tricks to avoid any "digital trail"..
Most good/honest folks have no idea of how this works..
But What they MUST realize..
IS..
the BAD GUYS/GALS/SCAMMERS ALREADY know the law,
and how to get around it..

Kind of like the SENSE in "banning guns"...
when guns are outlawed..
only the outlaws will have guns..
The "good/honest" folk will turn their's in..
then will be at the mercy of the ARMED bad guy..moping

gopi59: other sites, to keep out scammers?

it pisses me off when somebody from the CS site asks for a chat and says "i like your profile and would like to chat with you" and going to WVM list, the is has not even viewed my profile!!! abvious scammer!!!

Now, i dont even bother to report such id's as it seems the managers of this site dont bother with reporing scammers or abusers (from past experience)

If they turn off the "WHO'S VIEWED ME" Feature of,you wouldn't know whether they had looked at your Profile or no,same goes,if they browse Profiles without first signing in!conversing

You are right about visitors to the site being able to view profiles without being a member, maby this ought to be changed?

But if i'm not mistaken, if i have my WVM turned on i should be able to know who viewed my profile, even if they have theirs turned off?

I was told by other CS'ers about this quite a while ago, about viewing of profiles.

Apparently, and it is so, if you are a member and are offline, or any non member of the public, can simply click on search, and type in the profile name, and you won't mappear on that person's WNM list.

I just clicked on Fallingman as it is someone I know, but I think I forgot to log off first.doh I tried it a second time being logged so I could have been a non member, and the profile did come up.
