deb...you knew this was a very real possibility. now it's time to look at the treatments. you CAN live a long healthy life...as long as you TREAT this.
to hell with how they make you gain weight and such...just follow the doc's orders and do what is necessary to live.
research, research, research...get second opinions...but don't just decide not to do anything, your life is more than your looks.
Addison’s disease is a rare, chronic condition brought about by the failure of the adrenal glands. Lifelong, continuous treatment with steroid replacement therapy is required. With the right balance of daily medication, most people with the disease are able to continue life much as it was before their illness
deb, my thoughts and prayers are with you..i know how hard medical probs can be. i was just released from the hospital wednesday from having dvt and pe.. be strong you can make it through with lots of love and support..
I did some reading, and if you follow the course of treatment, it will "normalise" your life. I read about some woman who had it for 25 years, she raised three kids and she is still fine.
Speak to your doctor, take the medication, and look after yourself.
i think he told me over the phone, because if i dont start treatement immediatly well i could die. ive asked to see a doctor asap, to discuss this as im not wanting to take the meds even though i have took one already
