I'd assume you will be needing work permits if you want to settle down and earn a living there. Why don't you contact the Canadian Embassy on Monday and see what's needed, assuming you have not done so already?

I moved from Ireland this year to the States, but live in Northern New York and Toronto and Ottawa are nearer to me than NYC!! We also are on the St Lawrence, and the bridge to Canada and US/Canadian Immigration is just down the road from me, so I thought I would just drop in here and say hi.
We get Canadian TV stations here as well as American, and I watch the Canadian news quite a lot. They seem to be fairly open at the moment to migrants, so check the site out, and see what the current situation is..

ah thanks ,, wish i was heading to the states again as i loved new york when i lived there ,, but gave the green card back ,, and why not canada,, it looks amazing ,,wiill check out site now ,, thanks
