U could try this but make sure your pc is UNPLUGED... Take the side off your tower and vacuum the fan, it is probably full of dust.. This is generally what makes them overheat.....

Ya remember how my pc was overheating? I got it cleaned at the pc shop actually coz behind the gfx inernal fan it was full of dust! Like on a cool day with the internal fan at max speed it read 88 degrees C minimum, and now on a cool day with fan at 25% speed it reads 42 degrees C im happy! grin

Ive always used compressed air to clean the inside of my pc.
You can buy cans of compressed air from BigW, in the printer cartridge section.
Its best to carry the pc outside, as there will be alot of dust. You can clean the cpu, the gpu and even the inside of the psu this way.

Ok, if that didnt help then its either the cpu fan not working. Or could be the cpu cooler paste has dried out.

For it to shutdown when it gets hot outside, is abit of a worry, as it tells me its running at high temps under normal conditions.
(not good for the processor)

It really needs a repairer, as it starts to get alittle technical.

If it's an old PC, it may not cope very well with the loads of software and sizes of the programs we have these days. It might just be working way too hard for what it can deal with.
dunno

Hmm I read that that really isn't a good idea. Coz dust and pet hairs, if you have any around your pc, accumilates inside your pc without that cover...just what I read kezz wave

There is diagnostics you can run to check core temps and compare them with either the mainboards manufacturers web site or there would be an online forum regarding the board.

Cheers

Hi all is well... called up a friend of mine a computer expert told me to take the top off which did still get a bit hot so put a small powerful st... steel fan next to the open computer, Wow works well, downloaded a HDD Temperature gauge to keep a check. Went down from 55 to 35.
Just clean and then put the top back on when the weather cools down.thumbs up
