Only time i was worried was when i was driving a car around midnight to higher ground with the rear quater removed a front gaurd and bumper as well. The lights and blinkers still worked. Must have done five or six like that. Good to see your still about Serene, we will be ok now, its the souls downstream im thinking of.
I like Some-Dudes account from a person that had to evacuates perspective.
It was a hectic few days alright, glad its over. The best part about it was people actually talked to each other, its a pity it takes a potental disaster to bring us together.
I live on Edward st, seen alot the night on the evacuation order was given. Everyone well behaved going about there business of getting goods off the ground or moving to a friends house etc. I helped out a mate moving cars out of a smash repair business untill 3.00am tues morning. Sat down then, talked about the big one in 1974.The 1958 flood we had with no levee banks. The water got to Darlow st back then (so Mum and Dad told me) It will be a day or two until Nth Wagga people are allowed back sorry to say.
Gold is a precious metal, ive never heard it refered to as scrap. But if your willing to take half the going rate i will buy all your scraps no problem at all.
Hi Rob, if you found where an old Stamp Battery was setup, it would be a good place to do some slow scanning. Be patient keep the reel centered and as close as possible to the ground. Dark sediment in streams backwash is worth alook if you have a waterproof reel. if not a few shovels through a panning dish can bring some result. Always remember that gold is heavy, gold is a brassy yellow colour. Some people get it confussed with Mica (fools gold) mica rocks will shatter with very little force where as gold in most cases wont, mica glitters in sunlight also, gold doesn't. Id put a pic up on my profile of a nugget, but the scammers would be all over me like flies on sh... hehe! take care.
I was mowing lawns around the neibourhood for pocket money, saving up for a 2nd hand trailbike. Making sure i done my homework or id land a "scabbo slip" even worse, get the cane. Going out shooting rabbits on weekends with an older mate who had a licience to drive. Playing euka against my aunts on a sunday evening for lottery tickets, they were good old days, i was around 15yrs old when "JPY" turned out that song.
I remember saying down on the lounge after work reading the paper while Mum was making dinner, she asked me when i was going to move out....gezus! i was 23yrs old lol.
Buying a Sunnyboy and hoping like hell you got a free one. ....cashing in empty bottles that you just got from the shopkeepers crate out the side of the shop
I remember there was a Prize at the local shop to guess the Queens age, she was 45 that year, i won 2.00 worth of crackers a week before cracker night. (a bunger was 1c)
Getting an old pram from somewhere and making a billycart, having a busta in the same billycart and skinng your knees and elbows
Going to the local milkbar and buying a milkshake that came in a tin cup with a waxed paper straw, playing a pinball machine that cost 5cents a game. A meatpie at the footy cost 8c, 10c with sauce.
Building up a pile weeks before "cracker night", so you had the biggest bonfire on the vacant block. Penny Bungers or threepenny bungers under a milo tin.
Seeing who had the best shangeye and who could hit the most tins setup along the back fence.
When it got stinkin hot in summer the family would sleep outside on the front lawn.
The dingbat craze. Wondering how the hell that crystal radio works without a battery, listening to Dad & Dave and sometimes, the Adventures of Biggles.
The lunch trades in the schoolyard, having alittle bottle of milk in the morning at school.

RE: do you think its ok to sleep with someone,if they hav an unhappy marriage?
Well if it was me, id do what most of us males would do in this situation. Give her a good dicken and worry about the consequences later.
