Hi Folks,
I had an idea today and would like for some feedback and opinions from ye all.
We all log in here most days and either talk about ourselves, or mention others.
Is it possible that we could all pull together and pick a charity (ie) childrens hospital crumblin to give the little nippers a hopefull start in life?
Or set up a poll to mention charitys we know and end of feb choose the highiest one picked.
Then set up a poll to select a trust worthy member from CS to manage the post office account for fundings.
Maybe nobody will get involved but i personally will open the account with 20 euros if we can all agree to select someone to run it, someone we all know and trust.
If anyone has any ideas or thinks that we can all do this thing as a group please help us to help others.
thanks for all in advancehandshake hug

I admire your motives but it's totally against the site rules. There are plenty out there who would run off with the money.wave

Thanks, thats why i was asking to set up a poll that most users know are trusting and wont run, it would be nice if we could do a little.
And i never knew it was against rules on CS, it would be a on off thing and if CS ban it shame on there morals for it.
the person that would be choosen would be agreed wih us all and then only give charity account number to those that contact on private mail if known to them and have been involved in the thread.
just an idea, and if anyone can figure out a way thats agreeable to all then please give views.
thanks GG for advice

or even the nominated person put up P.O acc details, that way only people can go to local P.O and give what they can, then it can only be taken by the holder when year is up.
If we all poll for trust worthy that we no personally then it will go good, and help the nippers.

Another thing you could do is have a pub quiz themed meet. Not only would it raise money for charity but it would also split people up into smaller groups and might be less intimidating for first timers.

Dear Sukadik,

I was so excited to read your proposal and to know that you put so much trust in us to take your money. I will surely not let you down, especially after you have shown your good faith in this proposed transaction by transferring into my bank account the sum of twenty Euro

My bank is Allied Irish Bank, Bishopstown, Cork: sort code 934321 account number 34572838. I told my bank to expect the money. I am already expecting a few hundred thousand Euros from many other persons like you, mostly living on the African continent, who found my e-Mail address by chance and who, like you, are offering money.

As soon as I am informed by my bank that the transfer of 20 euro is in place, I will get back to you we can work out the other details of your proposed 'charity'. Naturally, this has to be in strict compliance with all Irish laws.

Respectfully yours in anticipation,

Horace Wolfe

P.S. I am forwarding a copy of your communication to:

Garda Bureau of Fraud Investigation,
Garda Headquarters

Dublin 2

Good post dude, i used to be very generous to charities, especially concern, but when i never got thanked and never got a letter, i vowed i would never give to a charity again. In total over a 3 year period, i donated about 3k to concern. And they only contacted me when i stopped paying. Crooks

Thats good idea also,
Just wanted to see if CS users can give a little to help, like me on here most of the time its only ourselves we think about,, dont mean to intimidate first time users, it is if we want we can, i dont want people to feel intimidated at all i want them to enjoy the site and do as the feel.
Thanks for idea handshake

Thats true rob, i wouldn't trust most charities to not thank you either, just taught with a group that have regular meets and people know each other it would work someway.
but as Tallaght guy said hold an auction, and if it done amonst ourselves then you know the thanks is always there, if not heard then you know that the kids have got it and thank you in there own ways.
At least we know it has gone to them end of day.handshake

How about we do a collection on the night of the meet..........say €10 each, and give it to one long and trusted member of the forums to lodge into a charity!
