Just watching the news and i see we now have 436,937 people signing on. We also have 60,000 people who have left Ireland looking for work.
Ireland went into recession before everyone else in the EU and while most other countries have come out of it we are still in recession.
We have cut Social Welfare, Child Benefit, Carers Allowances as well as charging for medical card scripts, and cutting thye lowest paid in the public sector.
In the same time the highest paid in the Public Sector get to avoid a similar cut, we have bailed Anglo Irish out for 4 billion last year and 4 billion this year. We are pumping 60 Billion into helping the greddy Banks, Property Developers and Builders. We have given out millions in Golden Handshakes to incompitant Bank Officials and Official in FAS.
Like WTF!!!!!!!!frustrated
How is this Government still in power. They are robbing the poor to make the rich richer!!!!!
frustrated frustrated frustrated very mad very mad very mad very mad frustrated very mad

Does it matter where they have come from??????? 436,937 unemployed in a country with a population of about 4 million is just shocking. The figures are seasonally adjusted to take account for people wotking for the Crimbo period anyway.

Vast Majority????? No. Finna Fail dont have a majority. They are in a coalition with the greens and some independants in government so they did not get a majority vote.!

We have one of the top Social Welfare systems in the world cause we have to. Our country is so expensive to live in that we need to give people what we do. If we gave any less people would go hungry. Its all very well comparing our Wefare to other countries but when you do that you also have to compare cost of living.
As for your statement we all benefited from the economic boom, i could not disagree more. I have got rises in line with inflation for the last 10 years so technically i am earning no more or less than i was 10 years ago. The vast majority of people who benefited from the boom worked in the Financial or Building sector.
