Not really anything serious i just have heard that the process in getting them is kind of hectic and slow. My mother worked at a V.A facility for years and from what i have heard some acted like they did not care about the vets at all.

felixis99: yes but he is responsible to all of his constituents, and more "non-freeloading" Americans - working class Americans are without health insurance, or are under insured more now than ever - probably much more so than in other developed western nations, It is an embarrassment that one of the best educated - wealthiest countries in the world has so many people who have a lower standard of living because of their lack of access to proper (not any) healthcare.
And, you're gonna see people like me who can afford to pay finally bail out and play broke when the 35%/year increases get to where we're paying $4500/month for health insurance !
It's not far off if you do the math ........

I myself do not agree with cutting defense systems or troop numbers as these need to be in place to protect us from rogue goverments and dictators etc. I say increase the troop numbers and put missle defense systems in place to protect this country.

jvaski: That came when I confronted Blue Shield on the issue of rediculous cost for a simple surgery - and they ( insurance) refused to enforce a reasonable price paid to a surgeon for a 20 minute surgery
I don't have any insurance and own my own business and have had to save up to have surgery on my knee.
My landlady has Medicare but she said there's some meds she takes that she's had to pay out of her own pocket.

I think the bank bail-outs ( which Bush initiated) and auto bail-outs are being viewed as panic control to prevent a definite depression and domino effect

My monthly insurance went to $960 last year , so now I pay out of pocket up to $5000/year deductable for a lower monthly rate.

good luck and dont let be a diversion from the issue - that more working class americans than ever are w/out proper healthcaresomechick: veterans receive excellent education benefits, but their disability HC can be a very arduous process because they have to go thru a process of applying to be approved as disabled, and then apply again to have a percentage level of disability declared (this is important because levels of payment & reimbursement for ALL kinds of other benefits depend on the % disabled a vet is declared) . So, all of this often holds up vital treatment, and the vet's ability to, for example, start school & utilize their benefit there - AND on top of that - there is a time limit to how much time a vet has to receive funding. If the vet isn't applying for a % level of disability it's not quite as bad - as far as I know of anyway

Just 7 years ago I was paying $170/ month with more benefits.......that's how much it's gone up

I do believe that the healthcare system can be improved to make it more affordable but someone has to want to do it. On the other hand i say do not let it fall into the hands of the boverment because if it does a lot of people will suffer. Obama's attitude towards senior care is just lousy to say the least and i would hate to see older people being kicked to curb and simply told to take an aspirin.

I know that jvaski. But it is still irksome. The auto industry and unions have had ages to. first of all, build a better product (except we'll cut FORD some slack here), and secOnd they've had decades to clean up their friggin financial mess. Delphi/Delco products was put into a holding compAny near 10 years ago...I MEAN THESE ARE AMONG THE BRIGHTEST BUSINESSS LEADERS IN THE WORLD. dON'T TELL ME THEY DIDN'T SEE THIS COMING. iF YOU MADE THIS BIG OF A MISTAKE AT YOUR JOB, WHERE WOULD BE RIGHT NOW?????
