Only someone looking for a reason to deny God's existence would get hung up on the creation myth of Genesis.

The story of Adam and Eve is a metaphor.
They never existed as individuals.
They are the archtypical first man and woman.
Their characteristics are presnent in every man and woman.

The same for the story of the forbidden fruit.
It's true for everybody, metaphorically, even though it never "happened" literally.

It's true in the same way that the parables of Jesus are true.
Not true in the literal sense, but entirely true spiritually.

Of course you have to have spiritual eyes to understand such things.

1Co 2:14
The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

David Icke, like Alex Jones, is a creation of the very forces he pretends to be against. Their role is to lead those who see through the scams perpetrated by the NWO governments into extreme, crazy worldviews.

Alex Jones leads people into a sort of survivalist, violent-revolutionary mindset (just right for actually provoking a few fringe lunatics into violence and thereby justifying the imposition of martial law at sometime in the future). Thus Jone's prophecies of an impending police state become self-fulfilling, and thereby reinforce the paranoia he incites.

David Icke, on the other hand, leads the fringe lunatics into insane fantasies about alien lizard people.

In both cases, the mainsteam public is repelled, and will reject even any truth that Jones or Icke might present, just because it is associated with such obvious delusion.

Both Icke and Jones rose out of the media establishment. Neither is the truth-seeking crusader he pretends to be.

thumbs up Rather well put. Ja, definitely, you gotta have "awakened" to fully understand.

Personally, my favourite parable concerning Jesus teachings is "The Good Samaritan". So many people misunderstand that, yet it^s SO simple!......

.... Asked "Who is this neighbor I should love?" .... His explanation was the Good Samaritan story ........It is the person who NEEDS your help ... HOw all the "good" and "religious" people passed him by, and then this traveller stopped, used his wine to wash his wounds, loaded him up, took him to an inn, paid for a few days keep, and promised to call on his return journey to pay any extras..... the injured guy had been robbed and beaten up and left to die on the side of the road.

The parables are not "stories" to be told for amusement - but lectures on acceptable behaviour..... Simple stuff, easy to understand.

I once heard a church minister telling his folk that the "neighbor" is fellow church members ... hahahahaaarolling on the floor laughing ...... Sorted him out quickly before he misled any more folk!drinking grin

So summarising it all up, God created humans to ruin and destroy massacre and decimate the animal kingdom, which I believe He created with love and intelligence.
What artist painter sculptor would allow anybody to destroy his creations? just imagine creating Man himself to destroy them!!

Then He created Man who He knew was going to disobey Him. For some reason, this was taken as an offence large enough to merit redemption, which was to involve the killing of His own son Jesus Christ, which deed Man had to perpetrate for the redemption to take place.

He gave free will to man but put a condition on Man namely that if he obeyed the commandments he would go to heaven, but otherwise he would be sent to hell... some free will that!!!!!
With a gun pointed at his head, man has only one way compulsion!!

He put man on a planet called earth which is nothing but a ball of fire cooling off, and erutping from time to time killing thousands, and millions over the years! To add to the excitement there are earthquakes, and goodness knows what else like tornadoes and tsunamis!!

Are these really the work of an omniscient, omnivolent, and omnipotent God?

If one had to reflect on another phrase, "what God has joined together, let no man put asunder" then it is doubtful how well the matchmaking is being done right when over 75% of all marriages fail, and 90% of love affairs fall apart!

Your comments folks!

antcus: That a serpent talked to Adam & Eve, or that Adam and Eve really existed?

I couldn't get beyond the fact that this story/fable/rendering underpins one of the basic facets of humans in that we often shy away from accepting responsibility for our actions thus bringing about the downfall of all. Adam couldn't accept responsibility and blamed Eve for 'making' him sin. Eve couldn't accept responsibility and blamed the serpent for 'enticing' her to do wrong. The snake no doubt cast blame on the apple just for 'being'. So, in the end, everyone comes out a bad guy. It's the story of the history of man/womankind.

I am there with you so far, but the topic was also aimed at discussing if this was just a story or a test for Man, and if it was a test for Man, why had Man to be punished for failing, when he was only human. And the most important part of it, why had the failure of Man to be taken so seriously by that same God who knew that Man would fail. Maybe more shocking is the fact that Man could only be redeemed by Christ the son of God who had to give up His life for Man.

Which part of the story is the most likely or the most unlikely?

As a story yes it does depict the "irresponsibility" of Man, but then isn't here always our own human nature to blame for us being so weak....an undeniable fact indeed!
