Well it looks like Toyota are going through the mill this time. Approximately 8 million Toyota cars worldwide have been recalled due to break and acceleration problems to date. Rather dangerous would you not think.

Causing accidents and deaths, I would not consider minor glitches. The safety and well being should be at the forefront of any manufacturer, no matter what their product line it.

sindhiboy: I love cars since childhood, there is no any flop Model from Toyota in pakistan
It is not about whether you have loved cars since childhood, it is about the responsibilty a car manufacturer has to ensure the safety and the well being of people who purchase these cars, as they are very very popular.
I have a Toyota Tocoma.. The mail and emails from the company are to many. I know I need to take the drivers side mat out. That I think is the only problem.

I believe you mean in all Makes. One here, one there, maybe a handful. A recall of 8 million plus cars is more than a fault. It's a travesty. I have a sister who has the Toyota Sequoia; a $57,000 SUV now worth nothing as a trade in. Who wants a Toyota after this fiasco. Nobody. Another sibling as a Camry; can't even drive his car.
Toyota needs to follow the business creed of a thriving business:
You have to spend money to make money.
When making cars, don't use cheap, crap parts. If they'd have spent a bit more money on these sticky accelerator pedals, and whatever ever other corners they cut, I don't think they'd be losing the amount of money they are now in recall repairs and sales.
Big for Toyota. You'll never find one in my garage.

Hey! You forgot to mention that those 8 millions are hybrid kind.
They are fairly new on a World market so there will be plenty of ups and downs until they will design an unfailing and a safe one.
Even thought Toyota actually honestly admited their fault and recall those hybrids .. you are right it is not fair to experiment on people with unsafe cars.
There are quite a few Car companies who even do not recall faulty cars. For them it is cheaper to pay insurence than to recall a bunch of them. That's scary!
