It will take some time? But eventually they will wake up? Maybe!

I had the daughters boyfriend turn up today and he had a shower (without asking) then asked for some cotton buds to get the water out of his ears?

Well at least he stoped coming here every night expecting dinner?

The daughter keeps asking why I call him homeless boy?

Because he never goes home? Ffs!

He is not a bad kid, but he now has his licence and worst off all!!!!!!!

He drives a Holden?

The embarrassment is enough having him park his car out-front without him coming inside the unit?

Who me?
I was the biggest AH on the planet!
Get home on Friday after school if I went that day, then go out and turn up Monday morning have a shower and go to school? (well maybe)

I don’t think kids have changed?

I think the exportations off their parents have?

When I was young, an education was the thing!
Now days everyone expects their kid to be a rocket sentence?

When do the kids get to be kids? Then live their lives?

Maybe we should let the kids grow up in their own time frame and not ours?

kezza007: You are a good son to look after your parents.... My teenager at this moment couldn't help me when I am not sick, let alone thinking if I was sick omg.... So I have to give good directions and modelling for him, hoping this helps instil better behaviour as he goes through his teenage years...

And talking about older women with younger me, not for me...But I can honeslty say the same as Red, the younger men are pesistant on chasing and at times pestering women in there 40's....Why is that so????
oh yes...and when you tell them you have a son not that much younger than them they don't seem to be bothered at allconfused

My little 5ft10 blonde blue eyed girl cleans my house while I am at work, she even does the washing up and the washing of the cloths? Even hangs them on the line!

She has said she does the vacuuming but I can see where?

Anyhow, I still get my big kiss every time she goes out or goes to bed,

Am I doing anything wrong here? You know the parenting thingy?

Blizzard14u: Yep I got one here, 14 year old girl / adult want-too-be, well she should be here, but she has gone out too a party?

They only live once, let them have their fun till reality bites, then they get to squirm over the bill, as we all did when we were growing up?

What can you do! It is better to be their for them when they need you, than be in their face every time they stuff up, I didn’t have kids so I could argue with them when they got older, there just doing the same stuff we did, although we didn’t have a mobile phone so our parents couldn’t check up on us?

Lets just hope all that logic we put into them when growing up will one day surface?

yep agree thumbs up

Well, from a mum that's been there and boys are grown up and now dealing with real life outside of the comforts of home
and both doing well

I let them go to parties - even dropped them off and just made sure they had taxi money or sober driver for when finished and always had their cell phones if needed me.

Hey, I even bought their alchol for them

Yes, you give out money left right & centre but don't expect to get 80% of it back - it doesnt happen

You give left right and centre and they don't really understand or appreciate it as to me it is quite normal and only a problem if they don't get it

Most teenagers go through their bumpy rides

but there is good news :))

Once they actually get full time jobs and start paying their way, they suddently realise how lucky and good they had it

and visit their mum heaps

and will go and buy dinner without asking for the money for it
or come home and with an icecream (they actually thought of you)

and they will lend you their flash laptop, knowing their mum and trusting that she doesnt go through all their stuff (and she doesnt)

they text you if not home, to check where you are lol, just to make sure you are ok

So things do change and just makes ya more proud of then and knowing that ya did an alright job in bringing them up

I've alway's managed to have my own place to rent since i left home. So when i had boarder's living with me, they had to be able to pull their own weight, everyone does their bit to make it work, otherwise it's chaos and they get the boot (which was never pleasant for me)....in the end, i worked full time and rented a house by myself, it was easier....

My mum, gave me some valuable lessons before i left home wine

We have a note book system, I used to ask if she could do the washing or hanging at one time, while I was off to work, I always end each note with I love you xx,
She always did what ever and adds I love you too xx, I don’t have to ask now but we still use the note book just to say have a nice day, and that I love you xx,
It is amazing what kids will write on a note pad where they wont ask when you are there? Yes we still have those difficult parent child moments? But most of all I keep composed and treat her as a person rather than a child, but she is only a child in age really? She has the manors of an adult and has spoken openly to most people since she was 9, yes I am a very proud dad, that loves his daughter no mater what she brings home?
