Like Kingman? That is a tough question. In some ways yes...I have some good friends and some good memories having lived here the past 29 years. I also have some very bad memories. I am looking forward to relocating in the next year now that my children are all grown.
I do get to the valley now and then to visit family there. I was raised in Chandler.
Favorite movie..I have a few...but if I had to name only one....don't laugh.....it is 'Gone with the Wind'. I know....I'm an incurable romantic.
Next time you are here I hope you let buy you a drink. From where live in Tempe I can through a rock and hit chandler but hopfuly none of your realitives .
I truly believe that the experiences we have throughout our lives are what makes us who we are today. And I am pretty happy with the person I am now. But there are things I did in my young life that I still wish I had the opportunity to make amends for. Not to cleanse my own soul, but to give answers and maybe some closure to those I affected in a bad way.
Definitely the effects of heat are much harder on me. The high summer temps drain all of my energy. I try to get up as early as possible in the day and get any housework or errands done before the hottest part of the day. Then I can rest for a while before time to cook dinner, by then it is starting to cool down some. I hope your doctors have explained to you the importance of maintaining your body's core temperature. If you have to be out in the heat of the day, always wear a hat to keep the sun off your head. A wet towel around your neck helps if you are out doing yard work or bar-b-qing. Another thing I do in the summer is wash my hair and french braid it wet. My hair is very thick so it works as a sort of coolant for my head.
I'm always here for you Cris if you need any advice and I am sure there are things you know to help me as well.
Actually the Dr's haven't said anything pertaining to maintaining the core body temperature. I have found that the worst time for me is winter. The heat can be draining but for some reason the extreme cold kills me (2 exacerbations a month apart). I don't like wearing hats though once in a blue moon I'll wear a baseball cap with my hair in a pony tail. I guess I'll have to have you teach me how to french braid my own hair, I've never been able to do my own
As far as making amends, you always have the oportunity to do it. You can always write a letter to the person and put it in an envelope, you never have to send it but it does help.
