geriwinks: This tune reminds me of those days and when I see my youngest, with no fear, I just have to smile.

Very cute song! I will have to run out and get me a cape! My garage is calling my name!

Same one I posted earlier on page 1 thumbs up

Try the Album.... Eric Bibb... "Friends" which is where "the Cape" is sung as a duet.

One of the few albums I have, where all the songs on it are just fantastic

peace

ooby_dooby: My earliest memory is from age 4. It was summertime and I was walking down a path at a summer camp that we went to every year because my mother was actually the camp counselor. It was a beautiful warm day and the path was lined with honeysuckle bushes. Suddenly it was like opening my eyes for the first time. I could smell the sweet fragrance of the flowers, I could see the sky, hear the birds and feel the warmth from the sun. It was an awakening. It was the first time I became aware that I was. I was born that day.

Well like a lot of kids growing up in the Caribbean, you're surrounded by nature's beauty, fruit trees of all sorts, gorgeous plants, picture perfect beaches and lovely sunny weather(well most of the times). So for a kid artist like me there was plenty inspiration to draw and paint. When I wasn't busy with art I was probably busy climbing some tree and watching the lizards. ( I've always like lizards I can spot a green Iguana hidden in a tree a mile away). But my fondest memories are hunting with my grandpa and his dogs I was just a little older than my own daughter is now, we used to have to leave home real early on my grandfather's bicycle. I remember one time we found this HUGE Boa Constrictor lying across the road that had gotten run over, it was the first time I'd seen a snake that large. I grew up in a fishing village so I also remember going with my grandfather to help pull in the big nets full of fish. The fish usually went from the nets straight into the cooking pot - can't get fresher fish than that. Even though there was television kids spent so much time outdoors in the fresh air, running around and getting dirty - not like now when its all computers, cell phones and video games.sigh

Yes it is a lot like Paradise out here, each island is special and unique in its own way, a real garden of eden. I'm hoping to create some good memories for my daughter too, she's a nature lover like myself, she loves the beach, she likes art and she's started to show an interest in photography(she's taken some of her own pics and she's just four)I've kept a book of some of my drawings and stories I wrote as a child that I plan to pass on to her one day when she's older.wine
