Working out in the sun
Can, with music be good fun
But don't overdo it or you may
End up in the hospital bay

Oh, this poetry thread is going down hill doh
I think I need to take a pill
Where is the spirit, the fire and the passion?
Has old fashioned romance gone out of fashion?

Boom Boom! grin

The romance has taken a thrashing
strained diluted and weak
but alas have just seen a profile
at which I shall take a peek

Romance is what some of us seek
Tho I haven't for many a week
If it comes then I'll welcome with pleasure
And if not I'll just enjoy my leisure

Where have all the poets gone?
I'm missing reading ... every one
Come back soon and drop some lines
E'en if there's just two, it'll be fine

Designing a scale model glider have I of late,
the Sedbergh's half inch to 1 foot scale mate.
For my owner mate's kid so when built and she flies
I'll have more time to write more on her, and advise.

The day is so hot even tho it's early
Now what did I do with that curly wurly
Hope I'll find it in yon chill fridge
Else I'll find it all sticky and covered in midge
Today I'll be chopping up more wood
When the job's done that'll be good
So soon I shall go and begin my jobs
And wave o'er the fence at neighbour Bob
Shorts I must wear as I'll be more cool
Just wish I could swim in my very own pool

get out my head girl
get out my face
you left my bed girl
you left my place
now take the memories girl
and take your soul
go away girl, go away
and leave me whole

A really lazy time for me today
In my bed, I did longer stay
May stay in, may go out
The weather causes me some doubt.

I rememeber the nights
you laid by my side
we'd make love for hours
our soup-de-jour lies

longing from midnight
until the sunrise
holding forever
our soup-de-jour lies

the mornings we strolled
the old boulavards
watching folks drinking
cool chocolate chaud

so happy out talking
in the crisp morning light
planning for a future
whose days were in sight

if only we weren't playing
our soup-de-jour lies

one day the little soldier did wonder
the reason for the war.
so he asked the sergeant, who, puzzled, replied,
'my son, I'm not really sure'

the soldier later asked the captain
the reason this officer foresaw.
the captain, perplexed, stood astraight and replied,
'just shoot, my son, and cease to ask no more'

the soldier asked the politician
the reason for the war.
the politician, scrunching his neck, licked his plate and replied,
'why what a silly question, my son, it's engraved in the book of law'

the little soldier, upon the battlefield, asked a corpse
the reason for the war.
the corpse, shutting his eyes, sighed out and replied.
'you're running out of ammo, my son, take mine and you can war some more'

The rain came down in torrents today
It nearly swept the cars away
The motorists drove as they shook and shuddered
As the old stone bridge got instantly flooded

The thunder clapped
and the lightening flashed
As the poor wet souls to their cars, they dashed
Soaked through in an instant
Hair plastered down
The storm raged on over our wee town

Such a picture our Juneau paints
Of yon storm o'er her town so quaint
Had a few drops here too last night
Hoped there'd be more but none in sight
The evening cooled a little though
Tho' sleep was late and came on slow
Today is breezy no sun in sight
We may have rain -- oh yes we might!

Good one A wave
That's us Brits....always discussing the weather...even in our poetry!! laugh

Having my hair cut
Oh what a drag
Maybe I'll just wear a paper bag!

The questions they ask are always the same
"Oh, look outside - it looks like rain"
"Are you going out tonight?"
"How's your hair, is that alright?"
Then moose, and spritz and hair spray galore
I just can't wait to get out that door!

Away from the chemicals and idol chatter
I know it doesn't really matter
Away from the spray tans and stick-on false nails
It's really not me, and I can't wait to bail

Get out of the door and into fresh air
Away from the drone of pop music blare
Thank God that it's over for another wee while
daydream idea Maybe next time, I'll change my style! grin

I didn't moose (as in my favourite animal! roll eyes )
professor It would be impossible to fit a fully grown moose on your head.
I meant "mousse" ...as in hair product! blushing laugh

Had to chuckle oh what a laugh
As I ran to stop the tap on the bath
I knew what you meant as re the mousse
Never thought it was a moose on the loose
Some words just seem t'have a mind of their own
When typing our lines or verses down

Maybe your eyesight needs to get checked -
I normally use 1.5 magnification glasses on my PC
BUT - I have to get a magnifier when I read your posts in that colour (Is it Fuschia?) because it fades into the grey so I rarely read them grin

Well, I might be falling apart at the seams, but my eyesight is 20/20 so I can see my font colour perfectly! tongue tongue laugh

I may be changing it to blue though, so certain people on here can read it! roll eyes laugh wave
