smoky: Ahh goshy goodness ..... GM is back! WElcome home to CS!

Actually, EVERYTHING kills. No-one has ever gotten out of this life alive ... yet.

Oh, they keep trying .. if they got enough money .....till the money runs out ... or the body finally just gives up and does what it does naturally anyway.

One of the reason the "other" smells dont kill you is that they are all mostly spread out into the air you`re breathing and you just so used to smelling foul air that you think is "fresh" you don`t notice it cause you can`t see it......

Most of the foods in supermarkets will kill you eventually ... all the artificial additives that contribute to your allergies and immune system.....water retention, swollen veins and arteries......

Fats and oils will kill you .... a nice clean heart-attack for a non-smoker ....

Your chronic medications will kill you too one day .....

Hair dyes also contribute to death....

..and also the fillings in your teeth....

and your anti-perspirant deoderant will only cause swollen lymph glands as your body tries to repel the toxins ....

But at least your breath will be, maybe, sweet? .. and your clothes will be perfumed with fabric destroying softeners, but hey, they at least wont smell of tobacco!

Now do me a favour, go and patronise a restaurant so the owner doesn`t go out of business since smoking was banned inside...
professor Life will eventually kill you,if you stick around long enough!laugh

I rest my case M`Lord. Gee, I thought 3 metres of guts was long!

And here we got actual figures of 5 metres in a normal adult male .... up to 9 metres in someone with NO MUSCLE TONE .....rolling on the floor laughing

Juslaaik! Imagine all that meat wending its was ... slowwwly ... down, lets be conservative ....and decide on halfway figures ..... SEVEN metres of stomach guts ... for THREE days ... with more meat being fed into the mouth every day, waiting it`s turn to move on down .....

..And we actually have to "speculate" and "wonder in amazement" why the body has difficulty expelling its normal quota of cancerous (mis-shapen) cells! ..especially when all those dead animals are accompanied by the E`s of artificiality.

The only reason humans think they are the only form of intelligence is cause they can make real stupid noises with their mouths called "talking".

Whatever happens in the guts, it still doesn’t make cigarette smoke pleasant. The one doesn’t take out the other. Smokers smell unpleasant both inside and outside, non-smokers only inside.

It makes no sense for tobacco addicts to say such things as 'We are all going to die one day so I might as well poison myself with cancer provoking gases' - or - 'Everybody who eats meat smells so I'll keep on this route to an early death' .. such illogical statements stem from the addiction which tobacco addicts won't face up to .. but face it or not, it is there ... I think Alan Carr says it best when he says - 'You either kill the monster within or the monster within kills you' .. sad flower

I agree with much of that mate. In my case I definately suffer with the addiction side. I'm trying to quit but man is it hard!! Not only the fact that nicotine is 3 times more addictive than heroin, but the habits that go with smoking too. After a meal, drinking tea, having a beer, times of stress etc etc etc. I'll just have to find some willpower from somewhere. roll eyes

I took Champix, and it helped. At least against the abstinence (it’s a torture, isn’t it?). But I still mourn the procedure itself... (they say: the sooner you quit smoking, the longer time there’ll be to regret it laugh ) though less and less with every day.

You cán du it! hug

Cheers for that, I'll have to look for it. You're right in the fact it's torture!!

I think it's a bit like when you split up with someone and you go to the bars you used to go to together .. feels weird like there is just too much missing and at first it seems really difficult, but when you go a time or two, it's ok - you adjust to a new normality - and a much better one in the case of tobacco addiction ... I'm not going to agree that it's difficult to give up tobacco tho .. I think it's the addiction itself saying it's difficult to lose cos it wants to kill you .. sad flower

Trouble is rytche it becomes an extension of you! That coupled with everything else is what makes it so hard for me.

Well... it depends on the angle of approach, so to say. According to one of New Age (?) philosophies, addiction (any addiction: smoking, gambling etc) is a way to block pride (that as known (?) is one of deadly sins). And according to that school of wisdom, when you get rid of it, there’ll be no need to block it anymore... and voila! – you are done with your addiction.

So it’s not your addiction that kills you, it’s your pride. By an addiction.

Feel free to laugh – I believe in it.

You just have different opinion on the matter, that’s all. I’m not in argumentative mood today, and the topic is (was?) about discrimination people by their smoking habit when choosing a date.

If I was sure that I’ve certainly quit smoking I wouldn’t reject a date on this ground. But I’m not sure yet. sigh

Conrad73: Pride in Selfdestructing?

This philosophy claims that pride is self-destructing, yes, and I agree with that. My knowledge of English isn’t enough though to make me able and explain the logic in what I mentioned in an earlier post.
