True. But I know a priest who said "The neverending story" was about chrisianity. I think you can find metaphors fo religion in loads of movis.It just when the movie is very openly saying it's all about religion but as a throwaway at the end. Then it really bugs me.

There's a lot of stuff written about Superman and Jesus. Lots of religious iconography in the comics and movies about our saviour from the heavens etc.
Watch out for the amount of times he takes the shape of a cross with his arms out wide in the last movie.
