On nearly every site I have ever been on there are the regular people that get up on some very high horses, they charge to the top of the moral high ground, cutting down every one in their way. Even the ones on their side. They then stand boastfully over the corpses of everyone's opinions, proudly displaying their blood soaked flag of moral indignation.

But before entering into such battles, there are a few things to consider.

1. High horses are very nervous and skittish animals, and likely to throw you off and trample all over you.

2. The moral high ground is built on the quick sand of public opinion and likely to drag you down to oblivion.

3. And as for the blood soaked flag of moral indignation, well the stains it leaves on you are extremely hard to get rid of.

Which all makes for quite a comical farce when you stand back and look at it.

I prefer these days to just sitback and watch the epic battle of minds over mundane topics and sometimes interesting ones popcorn

T'is t'internet afterall, if you win an argument or debate as some peeps call them...well we all know how that one ends.
I find it odd though that the same peeps are always the ones that act as though they've some expertise, no matter the topic, with statistics and facts hurled at each other, can't help but wonder who knows what and who's fighting with their google dunno

I would enjoy a philosophical debate or something along the lines of a psychology/social debate far more than arguing about something concrete such as history, something that gives a glimpse of how a peep thinks rather than their ability to regurgitate info, each to their own, I have no problem with the above mentioned debates, I enjoy spectating & sometimes learning from them, but said debates transcend into arguments very quickly and then name calling and demeaning others that voice a difference of opinion.

Then they're those that haven't a clue how to talk to someone online and fail to realise the absense of a little thing called body language, these peeps I've noticed take everything up the wrong way, most probably because the little voice in their head is leading them astray. I'd imagine they read the most innocent of posts with a sarcastic tone and leads them to believe they're being insulted etc......fun to watch though popcorn

I've seen it on other sites... one well known one lets you thumbs up Like

Another site had 'agree' and 'disagree' buttons on the posts, whereby one could show their support or not of individual posts, all anonymously, it just kept count.

Tell you what E... you go ahead and suggest it to CS handshake I'll say nothing and you can pretend it's a totally new idea that you came up with all by yourself.... I'm right behind you, cheering, encouraging, and 'Yay, what a great guy'

And hey, cheers for the 'Miss Perfect' comment. About bloody time someone agreed with me. It's tough job, ya know, so many interlopers trying so hard for the position. shimmy

....and so we go around the mulberry bush....

I have no time for the rantings and ravings of fools so far up their own bums they can brush their own teeth from the inside.

I use these sites for a bit of fun, if something comes of it, such as a date, well all the better.
There are some use them for a sense of power and importance missing from their private lives. The only power that these posters have over us have on these sites is the power we choose to give them, when in reality the only power they actually have is to use a PC.

If you are able come back with a quick, witty quip, they usually can't handle it, and post increasing more offensive and abusive comments. To the point where they get suspended or banned.

They are all too easy to trap in their own stupidity.

Pinch away, I pinched it myself.
The Jacket is from Cusco in Peru.
I find it strange you claim to be naive, seeing as you have been posting on the threads on this site since at least December 2009.
And no, we are not buddies, we are unacquainted posters on a website, being buddies takes way more than that.

Willy cheese.
(See, this is what to do when one differs in opinion, a childish but inoffensive curse can be interpreted as humour but I really do mean it.)

Have to say ive a few mates that ive lost contact who went to Peru on and off over the years , but all i seem to remember is stories of weird skulls ....Alcohol and tokes over a pub table 20 years ago kinda cloud up the memories ..still nice jacket.

Quite true that i rejoined around dec 2009 but then stepped out for another few months and recently rejoined for a while to aquaint myself with people for Ciarans meet ...Probally leave soon and show my face again if another Meet happens that im attracted to...
I had actually joined ,if memory serves me correctly around dec 06 but dates get confusing when youve dabbled on different sites , be them dating or chat forums ...

Naive ..Yes thats me 100% for i believe in always simplifying nearly everything i do....(eg) I was taught by my Father at the age of 6-7 that to tighten and untighten a Bolt/screw you rotate in either a clockwise or anti clockwise direction.......During a chat and laugh with a Mechanic friend of mine he was told by his Father Lefty loosy..righty tighty...Now which one is easier ? Keep it Simple

A Educated friend of mine whos now approaching 50 has since the age of 14 learned a new word from the dictionary everyday ,at first to impress...then to self educate ..then because of the love of the language ...Do i think him any wiser than me..Bloody Yes ...does he think me any wiser than him ..well he says yes but i dont believe him lol...

Why do i generally pop into a thread and leave a stupid remark....To anger someone ..Maybe but unlikely...to make myself look important , intelligent or even because im egotistic ...No

For one simple thing only .... Humour makes me Happy

I do too.

Ever so slightly left-brained and always entertaining. Your profile pic (now gone) had that cheeky grin that implied fun.
