I agree with you - sometimes they do but othertimes I think its just your minds time to get creative and let loose.
One of my dreams in April was a forewarning to something that actually happened. I had to go away for a long weekend so had someone doggy-sit my dog, dropped him off on thursday night to the minder, that night I had a dream that he got hit by a car and was killed - and on the friday night the minder called me in floods of tears and said that he had just been hit by the neighbours car - they'd been coming back from a walk and the leash snapped and he went under the car and it went over his head - it didn't kill him instantly but he died 2 days later on sunday. My dream had been the exact incidents that actually happened.
So since that - I'm alot more inclined to believe that sometimes dreams are actually forewarnings.

I had a terrible dream, very strange indeed. I dreamt that I was eating a giant marshmallow, and I just couldn't seem to get it all finished, I ate and I ate and I ate..... terrible.
I woke up in a sweat and the strange thing was..... my pillow was gone !
