I assume most people at CS are actively in search of a relationship (excluding those who are already in one).
But is a relationship truly the secret to happiness? Are people in a relationship any happier, any more fulfilled than people living a life on their own? Is this what we are all after or are we just following the crowd, simply too bored, or just after a little excitement on the side?

most of the time I simply don`t know what I want , as happiness is only a temporarily but important part of life

I think happiness starts within ourselves..If a person isnt happy with themselves then no one can "make" that person happy. I think having a soulmate can enhance our happiness though.. Whatever someone is looking for depends on who it is doing the looking..Some are looking for fun, some a relationship, some maybe kicks? I think the people who are in a good relationship could possibly be a little more happier than someone who isnt but it doesnt mean that a single person cant find happiness in life without a partner..Some people are happier being single.
For mi happiness has different meanings. Now regarding to a relationship, if you feel that getting involved with someone makes you happy then that's what is in your mind. People are happy being alone and having a temporary relationship; others want to share their life with someone and be more happier than they are. If you seek you will find and I wish you the best of luck!

Well people, you may say what you want about hapiness but I didnt see till now any single being happy that he or she is single. My opinion. Solitude is not a way to be happy. Yes, we may be self sufficient and happy with ourselfs but if we are happy alone, and not sharing this happiness we feel, I think it is a bit selfish.

Well said Keesy! The only singles i know to be happy they are so are the ones who have just managed to get out of some uncomfortable relationship and for some reason that cheerfulness does not seem to last long before we start feeling that emptiness!

the secreat to happieness is doing what you want to do. i love being on the sea. with the wind in her sails. the waves breaking on the deck in a force 6 wind.. would love to share it with someone though.
Not all single people are seeking a relationship at all and are perfectly happy being that way. I have been happy for almost 3 years being single and now I am looking for someone to be happy with not to bring me happiness. I will be happy with or without someone.

makes sense though in a relationship (assuming its going well), there's always your other half to share the ups and downs with so it sometimes makes things more bearable.
