If it happens like turning off a switch and we all fall over or a long drawn out agonizing end where it leaves everyone gasping for air or a drop of water... No, but the switch idea doesn't sound any better.
Anyone who thinks the world would be better off if man was extinct is a lazy no-good spineless twit. Otherwise you'd have already done your part to make the world a better place and we wouldn't have to hear about it from you.

And what have you done to make this world a better place eeerrr Vietnam.... I won't go on.
Yes in the grand scheme of things. I believe the journey of life is an extrodinary blessing and we have an experience to express our selves. Which seems to be mis understood let alone not recognized as a blessing and a learning process to bring Unity of life.We are here to help. Humans have a purpose for our highest good. Infinity and beyond that is in the grand scheme. No beginning no end. Just now. Yet for those who believe something else that is your reality. You make your own world. It is your thoughts that create your life. What matters t one might not be important to another. I enjoy pictures of the earth others do not get the thrill I do. I love to learn. Some like to nevr jearn. Some are happy just being. That is cool too. Peace out. Interesting question seems a little stupid to me though.

tomcatwarne: Do you think, in the Grand scheme of things it would matter if the human race became extinct?
Everything matters, yet nothing matters. If we became extinct then another life form would evolve to become the dominant species. Humans were not always here as we know ourselves as.
Boiling it down to the condensed essence, no it wouldn't matter if the human race went extinct, provided we assume that "matter" in this context means "result in dire consequences".
We might argue that it would matter to us, but it couldn't if we weren't here and we wouldn't be here in a state of extinction. So it wouldn't matter to nature. It wouldn't matter to the Earth. It wouldn't matter to the Universe. And it wouldn't matter to us. And it wouldn't matter which side of this argument we wish to advance.
