Every time a partisan gets hacked off with the president these days, "impeachment" talk starts. I guess the fact that Slick Willy was only the 2nd president in US history to be impeached got a lot of folks looking to impeach a republican. They'll have another shot to try to get even after the 2012 election. Till then, they'll just have to be patient and and sulk over their inability to trump up a charge they could use to impeach Bush.

Bush Can't Be Impeached

I've reading things here and there from those on the left who are upset with Nancy Pelosi, because she has stated that impeachment of George Bush is off the table. It's seems the reason these misinformed folks want to impeach the President, has to do with lying about the reason for war in Iraq. Here's why impeachment is off the table:

John Kerry, John Edwards, and Hillary Clinton all stated the same "lies" GW did. So you've got the best the Democrats had to offer for President last time around, and the new hopeful that would have to go down with him. Don't believe me? Let get the quotes right from there mouths:

I like to start to start with John Edwards, since he was on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and had access to all of the same data GW did:

"As a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, I firmly believe that the issue of Iraq is not about politics. It's about national security. We know that for at least 20 years, Saddam Hussein has obsessively sought weapons of mass destruction through every means available. We know that he has chemical and biological weapons today. He has used them in the past, and he is doing everything he can to build more. Each day he inches closer to his longtime goal of nuclear capability -- a capability that could be less than a year away. The path of confronting Saddam is full of hazards. But the path of inaction is far more dangerous. This week, a week where we remember the sacrifice of thousands of innocent Americans made on 9-11, the choice could not be starker. Had we known that such attacks were imminent, we surely would have used every means at our disposal to prevent them and take out the plotters. We cannot wait for such a terrible event -- or, if weapons of mass destruction are used, one far worse -- to address the clear and present danger posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq."

This statement has all of the "lies" that the left likes to say came from GW. But my favorite part is JE stating that Iraq posed a clear and present danger for America.

Here's what Edwards said previously in regards to the danger Iraq posed to America:

"I mean, we have three different countries that, while they all present serious problems for the United States -- they're dictatorships, they're involved in the development and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction -- you know, the most imminent, clear and present threat to our country is not the same from those three countries. I think Iraq is the most serious and imminent threat to our country."



He said this in regard to the "Axis of Evil" speech. But I thought it was the Bush adminsitration that claimed Iraq was the threat, not Democrats?

"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the authority to use force - if necessary - to disarm Saddam Hussein because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."

There are a lot of quotes available from Lurch, but he wasn't on the Intelligence Committee, and must have been spoon fed from GW, the data required to make these statements in the lefts mind.

Let's go to another Intelligence Committee Member, this time from the house. Yes, folks it's Nancy Pelosi in her own words:
