I still believe in some one opening the door for me or pulling out my chair,saying please and thank you.It makes me feel special...guess i am old-fashion to and out of date...but i like it that way!

I think its more important than ever to preserve those values D...I raised my girls to have manners. Manners are an island in a sea of uncivilized waters.

I see you are looking at it from a feminine point of view and I agree with courtesy and respect, in this respect, but don't you think courtesy and respect should be shown to men as wel, albeit in a different way.

Hi d/m.....i dont think the things you have mentioned , have been replaced with modern ideas.they dont seemed to be praticed so much as one would like now days.i have noticed this when driving.they would sooner crash into you then show a little coutesy by giving awayto you.i blame the parents ,not showing them what good manners mean.plus all the otherthings you spoke of.i think their bodies mature .long before their brains do.------ This thread is Archived ------

Have you looked at our youth? I think a LOT of them do have courtesy,good manners,honesty and respect for self,one another... (thanks to their parents) but sadly, it's us adults who don't often lead by examples.
