Swissblueeyes: I dont mind cooking..I think its healthier than picking up something at the drive through mc donalds or something..do they have those in italy?
McDs exist, but otherwise it's all about Italian "slow food". There's actually some campaign going on to promote proper healthy slow food.
PS: Never go for the drive thru option in Italy - you'll be stuck there for hours. Fast food ain't so fast at all here!!
time4fun4u: I can cook, but dont bother. To be honest my fridge and cupboards are empty!I dont buy junk food, so i end up with a tin of beans or i buy a ready cooked roast chicken.Really miss a home cooked meal.
If it'll go in my big cook pot or wok I'll cook it. I cooked a huge marrow on Friday night and made marrow massala and marrow, satay and red bean curd rogan josh - there's about 10 portions in my freezer. I do the same with chillis and other currys and casseroles etc. When I work away there's no time to cook in the evenings so one of those will come out of the freezer and be eaten with rice or nan or whatever - I do the same with Bolognaise sauce etc and will do chicken in black bean or chicken paprika the same way.
I try to avoid cooking for one - it's too time consuming and not cost effective. I make a pan full of mashed potatoes when I do them too and freeze that - its then an easy meal - zap the mash in the microwave fry some really good sausages with onions and garlic - a bit of bouillon and wine and a hearty winter meal in about 5-10 minutes.

The only thing I really like at McDonalds is the Sausage McMuffin breakfast (though I prefer a Mc Muffin breakfast at home) that they do with the hash brown and coffee and which is cheap. They don't do it in Denmark! Schock!
