We are a (what's that medication for ADHD? I forget) nation. And why is because we don't want kids to be kids. Back in my day, a "hyperactive kid" was just "being a kid." If they'd get kids off their computers and out from in front of their TV sets and actually made them go out and exercise and eat less sugar and exercise more, we wouldn't be having anywhere near the problem with this that we are having. Notice how a lot of kids are overweight these days? And look at the growth hormones that are being fed to cattle and so forth that's obviously having an effect on kids. Girls are getting breasts and starting their periods much sooner, and boys are going through puberty also much sooner than we did 40 years ago, it seems. It's not unusual these days to see a girl of less than 12 with breasts. What's up with that???

confused dunno

May 31, 2002—Prempro, a hormone replacement therapy (HRT) drug, is a combination of estrogen and progestin. Prempro commonly is prescribed to reduce symptoms of menopause and to reduce the effects of osteoporosis.

The NHLBI conducted a federally funded study to determine the effectiveness of Prempro. The study was halted prematurely when researchers concluded the side effects of Prempro were so severe that they could no longer justify giving the drug to patients.

The study, consisting of more than 16,000 women, was halted on May 31, 2002. The Data and Safety Monitoring Board noted significant increases in heart problems and breast cancer among those women who were given Prempro.

The study determined that women who were given Prempro were more likely to develop serious problems compared to those in the placebo group. The statistics documenting Prempro side effects are alarming:

* 26% increase in breast cancer
* 41% increase in strokes
* 100% increase in blood clots
* 22% increase in incidents of cardiovascular disease

Not worth the trade off Professor! I'd rather be a hormonal witch than die prematurely.

There's only alot if you're counting use of things not designed solely for it - like antidepressants for mood swings. I'm glad I'm found comedic, as Dr. Wave mentioned - when's our wedding? rolling on the floor laughing

To answer your first question, well, I personally recommend soy products, a balanced diet, exercise, cutting out smoking, caffeine, alcohol and getting plenty of rest above any Rx or OTC drug, for depression and/or menopausal symptoms. I wouldn't go the Rx route unless absolutely necessary.

And to answer your second question, "I dunno. Has hell frozen over ALREADY??"

Actually yes, it does yearly.
Citing:

"Because of Michigan's climate, Hell "freezes over" every winter. Because of this, the phrase "when Hell freezes over …" is laughed at by those who know of this small town."

cause everyday they are understanding more about mental health
everyday they are coming out with new technology
they are better understanding how the brain works and they are understanding about the differt chemicals that the brain works off of.

the brain is balance but sometimes in someone lives this balance can be toss off, they will have what they call a chemical imbalance in their brains.

some meds are made to restore the balance in the brain, but they have to find the right meds that will work.most meds takes 6 to 8 weeks to work.than sometimes they don't work

they are also are finding out that some mental health problems are hereditary and are pass down from generations to generations.but they can also skip generations.

when someone is giving meds they have the choice to take them or not to take them.it is up to each person to decide which way to go

but to answer you they are understanding more and more how the brain works.what the brain is made of and they are bringing out new technology

i wish that was true,if that is true than i must ask myself.this question if that was true than why did the police come out to my house 5 times.take me into custody than take me to a mental hospital and i was held aginst my will for 2 weeks at a time.

for some who is living with a mental health problem knows it is real and everyday they must deal with that reality.nor can you make a profit off something that is done for free.

for some wish it was not true, for if it was not true than they will not be living through the hell they can life.the thing is if your brain becomes damages you cannot fix it.it is damages for the rest of your life.

but that is life for what someone says is not real, someone else can say it is real cause they are living through it.they are dealing with it everyday or their lives.

i know some people once they begin to understand it,are surprize by the people who are like them, the people who is dealing with it everyday of their lives.

to understand about mental health and how the brain works,i read alot of books.everything i could to understand how the brain works.i ask doctors, counselors and psychiatrists.

i even talk to neurologists they are the ones who study the brain and how it works.they also treat problems with the brain.they know how the brain works.

i learn long ago the way to beat something no matter what it is.is to find out everything you can know about it.once you know about it and understand it.than you can find a way to deal with it.

once you find a way to deal with it.you can overcome it.once you can overcome it you can beat it.once you have beaten it you can put it behind you and move on with your life

to understand anything in life all you have to do is to learn everything you can about it.knowledge has always and will always be the key to life

here's the thing you don't have to go see a doctor, nor a counselor or a psychiatrist.to find out if you have depression there are websites set up.that has questions on them for you to answer.but you have to be honest.

they are not set up by doctors nor drug companies.but hey are set up by organizations that are set up by people.who deals with mental health problems.for people who are dealing with the,for the people who are around them so they will know how to help the person.

for people who wants to understand about mental health problems.what some people do not understand the brain can get sick.just like the rest of the body.they brain can get damage like the rest of the body and the brain can die just like the rest of the body.

by going to these website and answering the question you can know if you might be going through depression.if you think you are and you want to get help for it.they can tell you where to go for help

they can also tell you what kind of help you can get, what kind of meds and treatments that can help.they will also tell you the side affects of the meds.

but the thing is no one can make you,do something you do not want to do.just like if you have depression no one can make you take the meds.but it does not hurt to find out if you have depression or not.

nor does it hurt to find out about mental health problems, that way you will know how to help someone around you.that has a mental health problem.but it is up to you what you want to do peace
