What is the economy like in YOUR area? Are jobs decent paying and plentiful? My town has a 7.2% unemployment rate. Jobs are scarce and the average one only pays around $6 an hour.

Sucks in my area and if you want a good paying job you have to commute into the Chicago or Rockford area.

Also what sucks is people from Chicago are moving here and the end result is more development, higher taxes and more crime.

When I was working at the hunting lodge I was making $11.00 an
hour, plus tips per room. The least tip I would have in each
room was $50.00 bucks. There are jobs to be had if people are
willing to work. Also depends on type of work someone is looking
for.

In Phoenix the economy is great and has been great for years. Unemployment is at 4. something and predicted to stay like that for awhile. The sector of employment needed most, technical, hospitality and they are screaming for all areas of the construction industry and the higher your skills the more they will pay, the pay is $10 and up, per hour, depending on skills. Phoenix is the 2nd fasting growing city in the United States.

And while most of you who read this will say “It’s hot out there” I have lived here for 22 years and yes it is absolute hell for 3 to 4 months a year, the rest of the year is heaven. I personally will take that 3 or 4 months of hell over the freezing hell that last 6 to 7 months in most places in the US.

About 6 dollars a hour here, too, unless you deal in marijuana or open a meth lab but most of those ventures are short lived. We are proud of our natural state that is why quite naturally after most young folks get a get a good education they move out of state. All it takes is a few weeks working at the factories here to wise them up and the people who have been at the job for many years help them to see what they have to look forward to if they stay here.
