Of course. Remember though that I'm an expert in 'how' to lose weight, just as all big people are, so I don't need advice on what to eat or how to lose it. I just need will-power. That is the main thing that anyone who wants to lose weight needs.

Personally i really think diets are on the fence so many people take paet in diets and end up very ill and depressed and others lose weight and then start to critisise others. theres a few people at my work who are on diets and have been for the las 14 weeks and they have lost only 4 pounds.......... are they doing the diet wrong or is it the wrong diet.......
there are so many diets out there and so many of them can go horribly wrong......... but the main questions are:

Are they taking over our Lives?
Is there any need for them we are who we are?
or is it a Step forward?

lv Jamie

THIS WAS NOT BROUGHT FORWARD TO OFFEND ANYONE....

Hi Jamie. I pretty much agree with a lot of what you wrote. I don't go for all these crazy diets where you have to eat loads of the same thing, or eat at odd times, or spend hundreds on stupid pills. None of that is sensible and normally doesn't work anyway. The only sort of diet I ever go on is a sensible one where I eat less and exercise more. All these other diets are fads that don't give long-lasting results. Losing about 2LB a week is about right. If you keep that up for a few weeks then you can stuff your face like a horse (do horses really stuff their faces?) for a week and you'll still lose the 2LB! Just make sure you go back on the diet again so you keep the routine up. So it's more a change of lifestlye, but something you have to stick to.

As for your questions - Well when you're as fat as me, you HAVE to lose weight. It bugs me when young girls get all funny about being 1LB heavier than the girl next door. They don't need to diet, that's just stupid. People like me though really do need to and if I don't, I will die early. It's as simple as that and I won't pretend it isn't that serious. Losing weight will sort out my health which will in-turn help my social life (so that I might actually have one!). So I guess it depends who you are, whether it's really something you need to do or not.

By the way, this is now the 3rd week of my diet and I'm still doing pretty well. :)

Well Done your obviously taking the safe and the easyest option for you........
just dont get involved with the latest diets in the area because they only end up in tears and depressed.

Just take it in your stride you sure will lose weight if you are willing to concentrate and put your mind to it good luck.

No I won't get involved in any of the weird diets going around. The 'safe' way just needs a lot of will-power and that's why it's so hard to lose weight, and why a lot of people try other fancy diets instead.

I lost a lot of weight last year but put it all back on again - What an idiot huh? moping

Thanks for your support mate, I'll try not to give up this time. handshake

Why are you always so paranoid? It's like you're desperate to argue with people. I laughed at something Ickle wrote for a deep reason that she may or may not understand. The 'laugh' had nothing to do with you losing weight. What do you take me for Debs? You're always so quick to snap at me.

Of course it's good that you've lost weight. It isn't good that being ill caused it of course because your body will be in starvation mode so when you eat it'll store it all as fat, and that isn't going to help you at all. So be careful of that when you get to eating properly again because you don't want to put on what you've lost.
