salanky: well to be fair if he escalates it by going back and thumping them and they come back again which is quite likely then where will it end? when wither the op or one of his friends are in hospital/dead....maybe im living in dublin too long and have seen far too many people injured over petty things

Society has become afraid , think of bystander intervention . Now a days people will not get involved , and so they should . Our scum are well armed. Back in my parents day there would be many "have a go heros"
