In basic training, my Senior Drill Sergeant, Drill Sergeant Roach, endeared me with many names...Killer (because he honestly saw that I was a motivated & dedicated recruit), Drew (even though no part of my name refers to Drew) & Biceps (not because they were huge, but because I was always doing pushups & pullups).
In AIT, my Senior Drill Sergeant referred to me as Grunt (Because one day we were doing bear crawls up & down hill, and I was so exhausted, I would grunt, but keep moving) Lifer (because it was a known fact, that at the time, i wanted to make a career out of the military) & yes...Drew (SDS Roach formally apparently informed him of this name...I think it has to do with the glasses they issue you when in Basic)
While in the army, while I was the clerk for my 1SG & CO, so i was often referred to as Go To (simply because I was there go to guy when they needed something)
After getting out of the Army, i never reaquired any nicknames, however I still think back to the days of Drew & Go To at times with a smile.
